Excessive Sweating
Excessive Sweating, also known as hyperhidrosis, can be a bothersome and embarrassing condition. However, there are several treatment options available, including Botox injections.
Identifying the Underlying Cause:
To treat excessive sweating, the first step is to identify the underlying cause of the condition. Sometimes, it may be related to an underlying medical condition, in which case, treating the underlying condition may help reduce sweating. In other cases, it may be due to overactive sweat glands, in which case, medical intervention may be necessary.
Botox Injections:
Botox injections can be a very effective treatment option for excessive sweating. Botox works by blocking the chemical signals that stimulate the sweat glands, thus reducing sweating. The procedure involves injecting small amounts of Botox into the affected areas, such as the underarms, palms, or feet. The procedure is minimally invasive and can be performed in our dermatology office. Botox injections for excessive sweating typically last for several months, and most people see a significant reduction in sweating after just one treatment. However, repeated treatments may be necessary to maintain the results.
